One Day Trip from Mathura to Baldeo

Vrindavan is a famous and best tourist place to start one day trip outside Mathura. Lord Krishna spent most of his childhood in Vrindavan. It is about 10 km away from Mathura and can be reached by private vehicle, taxis and other means of transport such as auto rickshaw, horse, etc. This place is the centre of temples such as Shree Radha Ras Bihari Ashta Sakhi Temple, Garud Govind Temple, Sri Radha Raman Mandir, Radha Vallabh Temple, Rangaji Temple, Sri Krishna-Balarama Temple, Shri Maa Katyayani Mandir, Madan Mohan Temple along with several other important places like Seva Kunj, Kesi Ghat, Meera-Bai Temple, Lal Babu Temple, Kathia Baba Ka Sthan, Chira Ghat, Raj Ghat, Sriji Temple, Raman Reti, Jugal Kishore Temple, Kusum Sarovar, Varaha Ghat, Kaliya Ghat and Imlital. There is a special arrangement of boat ride across the rive Yamuna.

Gokul


Gokul is a small town that is associated with the Krishna's life and is situated on the bank of river Yamuna. This is the place where Krishna was brought up by his foster mother Yashoda. The Vallabhachary sect is located here which is the symbol of Hinduism. It is situated about 9 km away from Mathura city. The famous place here is the Nanda Krishna palace where Krishna lived with his foster father Nanda. Special gathering of pilgrims at this place can be seen at the time of Krishna Janamashtami.

Nandgaon and Barsana

Nandgaon is another place that is located near Gokul and is about 56 km away from Mathura which is the village of Krishna. Adjacent to this is the village of Barsana which is the village of his consort Radha. Both these village are located at the base of the hill and are flooded with several Radha Krishna temples that are specially dedicated to their childhood activities.

Radha Kund


Radha Kund is popular as the supreme of all the tourist place and sacred bathing in the pond is believed to get relief from all the sins and get a new and pure soul. It is said that Krishna once took bath in this kund to please Radha. This kund is also known by the name Shyam kund for this reason. It is the nearby kund of Govardhan and people from allover world come here to take a holy dip.

Mahaban


This area do not have much attraction, however, it holds its importance at the time of Krishna's childhood where he used to spend time with his friends. This area is known for the green forest and lakes. It is a best sighting area to enjoy the natural beauty.

Govardhan


Govardhan is a holy place that is about 22 km away from Mathura and is located on the road that links Mathura and Deeg. It has a famous Goverdhan hill. This place is concentrated with several Hindu temples that for the parikrama of around 21 kilometers to cover all these temples and the Govardhan hill. The famous temples located here are Mukharbind, Daan-Ghati Mandir and Haridev Mandir. It also has a famous lake of Manasi Ganga and is a place of attraction for pilgrims, along with this there is a famous market along with few temples surrounding this famous lake. The famous and crowded day in Govardhan is of Guru Poornima where the holy parikrama is undertaken.

Govardhan Hill


Govardhan Hill is the best attraction point. Goverdhan hill is the narrow hill associated with the life of Krishna and people visit it to get the divine blessings of Krishna. This is the hill which Krishna once lifted it for seven days on his finger tip to save the people of Braj from Indra Dev. Nearby there is another famous place to visit is Kusum Sarovar that is located in this area of Govardhan hill.

Baldeo


The location of Baldeo area is about 20 km from Mathura and takes around an hour. It is well connected with road to all the major locations and tourist areas of Mathura region. It is known for the special temple that is dedicated to Balram who was the elder brother of Lord Krishna. In the temple, the statues of Balram and his wife Revati are situated. This place can also be reached by private vehicle or by hiring the best mean for reaching here. This temple is also known for the two famous fairs that are conducted every year. The Deo Chhath is the festival that is celebrated on Bhadon and Aghan every year which attracts huge crowed of pilgrims to this place. It is the best place to spend weekends with friends and family.
